Your 9-day adventure through Tanzania's iconic landscapes
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, where you'll be warmly welcomed by our representative. Transfer to your comfortable hotel in Arusha, a city nestled at the foot of Mount Meru. Take time to relax and recover from your journey, or explore the hotel grounds. In the evening, meet your guide for a tour briefing about your upcoming safari adventure.
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. The park is especially attractive during the dry season when many animals gather around the Tarangire River, the park's only permanent water source. Enjoy a full-day game drive, searching for elephants, lions, giraffes, and over 500 bird species that inhabit this diverse ecosystem.
After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park known for its alkaline lake that attracts thousands of flamingos. The park is also famous for its tree-climbing lions, large elephant population, and incredible birdlife. Enjoy a game drive through the lush groundwater forest and open grassy plains. In the afternoon, proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, journey to the world-famous Serengeti National Park, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with spectacular views of the crater rim. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, enjoy an afternoon game drive across the endless plains. The Serengeti is home to the annual Great Migration and offers unparalleled wildlife viewing opportunities including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and numerous herbivores.
Spend an entire day exploring the magnificent Serengeti ecosystem. Start with an early morning game drive when predators are most active, followed by another drive in the afternoon. The vast plains stretch endlessly, supporting over 3 million large mammals including the highest concentration of predators in Africa. Today offers excellent opportunities to witness the dramatic interactions between predator and prey in this pristine wilderness.
After breakfast, continue your exploration by heading to the northern part of Serengeti. This region is less visited but offers extraordinary game viewing without the crowds. The northern Serengeti is known for its kopjes (rocky outcrops) where lions and leopards can often be spotted, and during the migration season (July-October), it's where the dramatic river crossings occur. Enjoy game drives throughout the day in different areas of this vast ecosystem.
Enjoy a final morning game drive in the Serengeti before departing for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey offers opportunities for wildlife spotting and beautiful landscapes. Upon arrival at your lodge situated on the crater rim, relax and enjoy the magnificent views overlooking the crater floor. The evening is at leisure to prepare for tomorrow's crater descent.
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's largest intact volcanic caldera. The crater floor hosts an incredible concentration of wildlife including rare black rhinos, lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, and flamingos around Lake Magadi. This natural enclosure offers some of the best wildlife viewing in Africa within its 260 square kilometers. After a full day of game viewing and a picnic lunch inside the crater, return to your lodge in the late afternoon.
After breakfast, visit a local Maasai village to learn about their traditional culture, customs, and lifestyle. This cultural interaction provides insights into how these indigenous people have lived in harmony with wildlife for centuries. Afterward, begin your journey back to Arusha, stopping for lunch en route. Upon arrival in Arusha, you'll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure flight, taking with you unforgettable memories of Tanzania's wilderness.
